Accomplishments

We would like to share with you some of our accomplishments over the past year:

  • Health and Human Services

    – Medical, mental health, prescriptions, insurance information, social services referrals, food stamps, housing, and job referrals

    • Basic Needs donation and distribution program providing essentials to more than 250 individuals since October 2009 including clothing, blankets, shoes, socks, and toiletries
    • Secured collaborative agreements with the Orange County Health Department, Orange County Rescue Mission, Saddleback Memorial Hospital (San Clemente), and the Illumination Foundation to assist in the delivery of medical and social services to the homeless and working poor - utilizing the Medical Unit Team (MUT) and Medical Multi-Service Clinic van services, at various locations in South Orange County
    • Developed a partnership with the Veterans Administration Long Beach Healthcare System in collaboration with Family Assistance Ministries and Illumination Foundation to identify and serve homeless veterans
  • Housing

    – Partner in the Harbor Housing Assistance Collaborative (HHAC) Grant

    • Administered by Friendship Shelter, Inc. of Laguna Beach in partnership with iHOPE and Laguna Relief and Resource Center, the grant provides $190,000 Federal (HUD) Homeless Prevention and Rapid re-housing Program (HPRP) funds
    • As of October 2009 there have been 14 families served and $29,997 in funds dispersed
  • Community Outreach

    • iHOPEoc is an active member of the San Clemente Collaborative currently serving on the Health Committee with the objective to determine the needs of the homeless community including establishing locations for MMSC mobile van visits
    • Developed and will continue to update and maintain a current list of available Resources for the at risk, homeless and working poor in South Orange County
    • Support the development of a cold weather emergency shelter
