For most families in Orange County, CA, homelessness was not caused by substance abuse or mental illness.
Orange County, CA has the highest population of millionaires per capita and a lower than average support for non-profits.
In Orange County, CA, a person earning minimum wage would need to work 141 hours per week to afford a one bedroom apartment.
The majority of homeless people in Orange County, CA are working full-time jobs.
For the 2008 - 2009 school year, the Orange County, CA department of education reported over 18,000 homeless children. There are many more homeless children that are not registered in schools.
Orange County, CA has one of the highest population per capita of homeless in the US.
There are only 3,400 temporary shelter beds available.

Training
iHOPE is holding three training sessions for anyone interested in volunteering at our new Day Resource Center when it opens on January 23, 2012. These trainings will take place at our center, 106 W. Canada, San Clemente.
